What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level geotechnical engineer to support project teams with fieldwork, laboratory testing, and technical documentation. You will get practical, on-the-job training and work alongside experienced geotechnical and civil engineers.

• Assist with field investigations: soil sampling, site inspections, test pits, and data collection
• Support laboratory testing and interpret geotechnical, environmental, and geological data
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, field logs, drawings, and site documentation
• Observe construction activities and coordinate with senior staff to verify project specifications
• Help manage project logistics — coordinate equipment, schedule fieldwork, and track progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical site solutions
• Travel to project sites as required (may include overnight stays and occasional weekends)

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated candidate who wants to grow into a field-focused geotechnical role.

• Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong willingness to learn
• Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively in the office
• Positive attitude and good communication skills with teammates and clients
• 0–1+ years of professional experience is acceptable; internships or relevant coursework are a plus

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Comfortable with travel and variable field hours (including occasional weekends)
• Strong teamwork and written/verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Internship or coursework involving field investigations, environmental assessments, or geotechnical studies
• Familiarity with basic field equipment (soil sampling tools, DCP testing, etc.)
• Exposure to AutoCAD, GIS, or geotechnical software such as gINT or GeoStudio
• Student chapter or community involvement in engineering societies
• Interest in renewable energy or infrastructure projects

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $64,500 - $70,700 per year
• Employment type: Full-time (contractor classification may apply per client needs)
