Entry-Level Foundry Process Engineer
The Entry-Level Foundry Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing and improving foundry manufacturing processes, including pattern rigging design, casting quality control, and defect analysis. This role involves collaboration across facilities to address casting issues, implementing quality management systems, and supporting manufacturing efficiency and process improvements. The position requires strong technical skills in blueprint reading, solid modeling, and manufacturing process knowledge to ensure high-quality metal casting production.

What You’ll Do
This role supports foundry process engineering and pattern/rigging design to ensure high-quality castings and efficient production. You will work closely with production, quality, and design teams to diagnose defects, create and update process documentation, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical review, control, and documentation of process parameters that affect product quality
- Design pattern rigging and create detailed shop travelers for specific casting patterns
- Evaluate, maintain, and update manufacturing systems, procedures, and work instructions
- Use and help improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Assist in defect analysis and implement root-cause/corrective actions
- Develop solid models for products and materials; support SolidWorks-based modeling
- Conduct solidification simulations and recommend gating/feeding improvements
- Construct or modify product routing and collaborate with other facilities to resolve casting issues
- Support research, purchasing, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies
- Provide process guidance to production and assist continuous improvement initiatives
- Quote raw castings, machining-only work, and associated services (e.g., heat treatment, RT)
Who You Are / Qualifications
The following reflect the qualifications and experience that will help you succeed in this position.
- Degree in Materials, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field preferred but not required
- 0–5 years manufacturing experience; 3–5 years preferred, ideally with metals/foundry experience
- Ability to read and interpret casting blueprints and visualize pattern and mold design
- Understanding of shrink factors, feeding moduli, and pattern rigging fundamentals
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools and familiarity with laser scanning is a plus
- Experience running or interpreting solidification simulations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate across organizational levels
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with QMS documentation and process controls
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements
Compensation & Location
- Salary range (from the source posting): $70,000 – $95,000 per year
- Location: Lebanon, PA — on-site role (Confidential Client location)
