Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Field Technician based in Armonk, NY. This full-time, onsite role is an entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) space. You will perform field inspections, collect project data, support surveying and mapping tasks, and assist engineering and construction teams across local projects.
What You’ll Do
- Perform field inspections and collect project-related data at construction and development sites
- Assist with site investigations, measurements, and documentation
- Support engineering, surveying, and construction teams with field operations
- Record field observations and prepare reports using company software and mobile technology
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks on project activities
- Assist with GPS, survey, and mapping-related tasks as needed
- Take photographs and document project progress for clients and project managers
- Ensure projects comply with safety standards and project specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and field personnel
- Participate in hands-on training to learn industry tools, technologies, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, Environmental Science, GIS, Geography, or a related field
- Strong interest in field operations, construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and project documentation (preferred but not required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to travel locally to project sites throughout the Lower Hudson Valley
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in construction, surveying, engineering, architecture, or environmental projects
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, GPS equipment, surveying equipment, or construction drawings
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience using tablets, mobile applications, or digital field reporting tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical equipment
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year (equivalent to approximately $25.00 - $40.00/hr), depending on experience, education, and qualifications
