About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Field Engineer to support underground and deep foundations projects across North America. This entry-level role combines field and office responsibilities: you’ll help execute construction work, support safety and documentation, and assist estimating teams. This is a hands-on opportunity to build technical skills on large, complex infrastructure programs.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
- Perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs from drawings and contract documents
- Support field surveying, layout, elevation control points, and as-built data collection
- Assist in preparation of work plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and daily reports
- Compile and confirm daily labor timesheets, photos, RFIs, and project records
- Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate subcontractor work on-site
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations as directed
- Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
- Support estimating tasks including quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost research, and bid close-out activities
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety training
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Previous construction or mining experience preferred but not required
- Strong desire to work in underground construction and foundations work
- Willingness to travel and relocate throughout your career as projects require
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong work ethic, critical thinking, and ability to work independently and on teams
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Location & Travel
This position is based in Irving, TX, but Confidential Client operates across the U.S. and Canada. Expect travel to project sites and the potential for extended field assignments depending on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $82,000 - $88,000 per year (estimated; actual compensation varies by experience, skill set, and location).
