Entry Level Field Engineer - Confidential Client
The Entry Level Field Engineer at Confidential Client supports complex underground and foundation construction projects by assisting in both field and office engineering tasks, including quantity calculations, surveying, safety compliance, and project documentation. This role offers hands-on experience in construction operations, estimating, and project coordination, requiring strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and willingness to travel across North America.

Responsibilities
Field Engineering
- Assist field crews and craft supervision by interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Perform quantity calculations, measure installed materials, and document percent complete.
- Support work plan and work package preparation.
- Assist with field surveying, layout (elevation, control points), and compilation of as-built data.
- Compile and process daily labor timesheets and assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, mass safety meetings, and training.
- Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate work groups on site.
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations as directed.
Office Engineering
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Execute basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field activities.
- Prepare data, submittals, transmittals, and correspondence for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Assist with purchase orders, minor solicitations, and subcontract preparation.
- Maintain project recordkeeping (daily reports, photos, RFIs, memos) and enter data into job-cost systems.
- Support change order generation and as-built documentation for Project Manager review.
Estimating Support
- Assist with plan and specification reviews, identifying risk areas for Senior Estimators.
- Complete material and quantity takeoffs and analyze historical production/cost data for bids.
- Participate in estimate reviews, time studies, and bid close-outs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mining, mechanical, geotechnical engineering, construction management, or a closely related field.
- Previous construction or mining experience preferred but not required.
- Strong desire to work in underground and heavy civil construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel and relocate throughout your career as projects require.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong work ethic and critical thinking skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Employment type: Full Time.
- Base compensation: $82,000 — $88,000 per year (range provided by our client; actual pay may vary based on experience, education, skills, and location).

Location & Travel
- Job location: Golden Gate / Naples area, Florida (34116). Our client operates projects across North America; roles may require travel to and work at varied project sites and conditions.
- Candidates must be willing to work at jobsite locations as assigned and to relocate/travel nationally over the course of their career.

- May require overtime and weekend work depending on project needs.
