What You’ll Do

Our confidential client is hiring an Entry Level Field Engineer to work on underground and deep-foundation construction projects. This role splits time between field and office work and offers exposure to estimating, project execution, and construction operations.

Field engineering responsibilities

  • Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
  • Perform quantity measurements and calculate percentage complete for installed materials
  • Support field layout and surveying (elevations, control points, as-built data)
  • Help prepare work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Track daily labor timesheets and coordinate material deliveries
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety reviews, and jobsite training
  • Provide field-level solutions for tunneling and underground construction operations
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups and support subcontractor supervision

Office engineering & estimating responsibilities

  • Perform material takeoffs from drawings and contract documents
  • Complete basic engineering calculations and technical drafting
  • Prepare submittals, transmittals, RFIs, daily reports, and as-built documentation
  • Enter data into job cost systems and assist with cost report reviews
  • Support purchase order and subcontract preparation; assist with minor solicitations
  • Participate in estimating: quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost estimating, and bid reviews

Location & Mobility

  • Primary work location: Edgewood / Orlando region, FL (job locations vary by project)
  • Work will require travel and flexibility to relocate as project needs dictate across North America
  • Field assignments may expose you to varying weather and site conditions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Previous construction or mining experience preferred but not required
  • Strong desire to work in underground construction and foundations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong work ethic, good verbal/written communication, critical thinking, and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as projects require

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Compensation: $82,000 — $88,000 per year (actual pay may vary by education, experience, skillset, and location)
