What You’ll Do

As an Entry Level Field Engineer for a confidential client, you will support both field and office engineering tasks across geotechnical, tunneling, and foundation projects.

  • Assist with interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
  • Perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs from drawings and contract documents
  • Support field surveying and layout (elevations, control points) and compile as-built data
  • Help prepare work plans, work packages, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), daily reports, and RFIs
  • Assist with daily labor timesheet processing and basic project recordkeeping (photos, correspondence)
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety training
  • Order and schedule material deliveries and help coordinate subcontractor work
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
  • Enter data into job-cost systems and assist in reviewing cost reports with site management
  • Support estimating activities: quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost estimating, and bid review

Where You’ll Work

This role primarily supports heavy civil and underground foundation projects across North America. Work locations vary by project and can include metropolitan and rural sites. Travel and relocation may be required over the course of your career depending on project assignments.


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged; previous construction or mining experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong desire to work in underground construction, tunneling, and deep foundations
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $82,000/yr - $88,000/yr (actual compensation varies with experience, education, skillset, and location)
