What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Event Marketing Assistant in Norfolk, VA. This full-time role ($17–$22/hr) is ideal for an energetic, customer-focused individual eager to start a career in event and experiential marketing. You will represent brands at local events and retail activations, support campaign execution, and help drive customer acquisition and sales.

  • Support the planning and execution of event marketing and promotional campaigns
  • Represent brands professionally at local events, retail promotions, and experiential activations
  • Engage directly with customers to provide excellent service and product information
  • Help drive on-site sales and lead generation through retail marketing efforts
  • Assist with day-to-day campaign execution and performance tracking
  • Increase brand recognition through community events and experiential marketing
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Work independently on assigned projects and collaboratively with the marketing team
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and development activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Support event setup, breakdown, and on-site merchandising
  • Staff in-person activations, sampling, demos, or promotional booths
  • Collect customer leads and feedback; accurately report results
  • Maintain professional brand representation and customer interactions
  • Follow campaign briefings and direction from marketing leadership
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate when needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Availability to work full-time, including some weekends for events
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and representing brands professionally
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, energetic environments
  • Willingness to travel ~1–2 weeks per year for training and development
  • Previous experience in marketing, sales, customer service, retail, or events is a plus — paid training provided

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $17–$22 per hour
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Some weekend and evening availability required for events
