Entry Level Environmental Scientist- Wetlands - Summer 2027
The Entry Level Environmental Scientist will support the Wetlands & Ecology Team by performing fieldwork such as wetlands delineation and environmental monitoring, assisting with permitting and report writing, and participating in public hearings. What You’ll Do
As an Environmental Scientist (Entry-level) on the Wetlands & Ecology team you will support project delivery and gain hands-on experience across field and technical work. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform wetlands delineation fieldwork and collect environmental field data
- Perform construction environmental monitoring and site inspections
- Assist with coastal and freshwater wetland permitting and regulatory submittals
- Prepare and assist with technical report writing
- Present findings at public hearings and stakeholder meetings, as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior staff on ecological assessments and mitigation planning
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Biology, Soil Science, Ecology, or a related natural-sciences field
- Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in ecology, hydrology, botany, and soils
- Demonstrated ability in field data collection, documentation, and basic analysis
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Resourceful, detail-oriented, organized, with solid time-management skills
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in a Natural Sciences field
- Prior environmental consulting or regulatory experience
- Experience working on wetland delineations, rare-species permitting, or restoration projects
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this role is based on skills and experience and is posted as:
- USD $53,134.00 - USD $69,739.00 / Year
