What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to support environmental compliance, remediation, permitting, and planning projects. This is an early-career role with hands-on field and office work, reporting to experienced staff.
- Conduct environmental sampling (stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste) and perform site visits to federal, industrial, and municipal client sites
- Collect, validate, and analyze field and laboratory data to support compliance and remediation efforts
- Prepare technical memoranda, environmental reports, and environmental reporting forms
- Assist with basic engineering and environmental design tasks under supervision: sketches, calculations, schematic and working drawings
- Use standard office software and discipline-specific tools to organize data and support project deliverables
- Support project schedules and budgets under direction of senior staff
- Travel locally is likely; U.S. travel may be required depending on projects
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Ecology, Biology, or related discipline — or equivalent experience/education
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this role
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred:
- Knowledge of environmental science principles and basic engineering concepts
- Experience or coursework in environmental sampling and data analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with data/reporting workflows
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear technical memos and reports
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and able to work independently in the field
- Ability to travel locally, with occasional extended travel as required
Hiring Event & Timing
- This role is tied to an invitation-only hiring event in South Boston on October 21–22, 2026 (networking mixer on Wednesday evening; interviews on Thursday at the local office).
- Target start window for the position is May–July 2027.
- Note: Day‑1 in-person onboarding at a client office is a condition of employment.
Compensation & Location
- Location: South Boston, MA (primary worksite; hybrid work model noted)
- Compensation: USD 60,000 – USD 80,000 per year
- Local travel is likely; U.S. travel may be required depending on project assignments
