What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Remediation Engineer to support the Environmental Operations and Remediation team. In this role you will work with experienced staff to implement NYS Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action programs and other remediation efforts at site locations. Typical duties include:
- Support environmental investigations and field sampling efforts
- Perform environmental monitoring and assist with data collection
- Contribute to contaminant fate and transport assessments
- Assist with remedy selection, remedy evaluation, and remediation construction oversight
- Support waste management planning and regulatory compliance activities
- Assist with assessment and remediation of historical petroleum releases
- Help maintain and coordinate technical contracts and vendor work
- Interface with external regulatory agencies (e.g., NYSDEC, NYSDOH, EPA)
Who We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or science field from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree acceptable)
- Willingness to perform field work and follow safety protocols
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare technical reports
- Ability to analyze and interpret inorganic and organic chemical analytical data
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications will make candidates particularly competitive:
- Experience with environmental investigation and remediation projects in New York State, preferably under the RCRA Corrective Action program
- Applied fieldwork / environmental sampling experience
- Experience assessing emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS) in environmental media
- HAZWOPER qualification and current 8-hour refresher training
- Educational background in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering
- Experience with contaminant fate and transport modeling and remedy evaluation

- Pay Range: $63,900 - $97,800 per year (range provided by employer; final salary based on experience and qualifications)
