What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Environmental Planner to support environmental planning, NEPA documentation, permitting, and environmental review for transportation, infrastructure, and public‑sector projects. This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of 3 days onsite per week in Williams Grv, PA.
- Assist with preparation of NEPA documents (Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and support for Environmental Impact Statements), technical reports, and project deliverables.
- Support environmental reviews for transportation, community development, and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct regulatory research and help identify project requirements, constraints, and permitting pathways.
- Collect, organize, and analyze environmental and GIS data; develop maps, exhibits, and spatial analyses.
- Support field reviews, environmental inventories, and site reconnaissance as needed.
- Prepare technical memoranda, presentations, and planning documents for internal and client review.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (planners, engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists).
- Support project managers with documentation, deliverable tracking, schedules, and client communications.
- Participate in professional development and technical training.
Who You Are (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, Public Planning, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of related professional experience (internships and applied academic projects count).
- Familiarity with the NEPA process through coursework, internships, or project work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams while managing multiple assignments.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and client offices, including occasional overnight travel.
- Able to work outdoors in all seasons; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and traversing uneven terrain.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Working experience with GIS software (ArcGIS Pro preferred).
- Experience creating maps, exhibits, spatial analyses, and technical graphics.
- Prior experience supporting NEPA documentation, environmental permitting, or environmental compliance.
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Participation in planning, environmental, or GIS professional organizations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $62,000 - $75,000 per year (dependent on experience, qualifications, and geographic location).
- Hybrid work environment (minimum 3 days onsite).
