Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Environmental Engineer to join their Integrated Sustainability and Compliance (ISC) team. This hybrid role supports air quality, EHS compliance, environmental due diligence, and sustainability projects across commercial, industrial, and federal clients. The role combines office, remote work, and field visits, with travel expected up to 10–20%.


What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks an early-career engineer who will support air quality and EHS compliance projects. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assist with air permitting and routine air permit compliance reporting
  • Prepare emissions calculations (regulated pollutants and greenhouse gases)
  • Support Tier II and TRI reporting and emissions inventory development
  • Assist with stormwater, wastewater, and waste management permitting
  • Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and due diligence reporting
  • Collect samples and support site investigations (soil, water, vapor) and inspections
  • Support spill preparedness and response planning
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, applying strong organizational and analytical skills

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Willingness to perform both field and office work; travel up to 10–20%

Preferred

  • Relevant internship or practicum experience
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $54,648 — $91,080 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
  • Full-time role; contractor status may apply per project (see Employment Type)

Work Location & Travel

  • Primary location: Walled Lake, MI (hybrid — office + remote + client sites)
  • Travel: up to 10–20% (may include overnight trips)
  • Most tasks can be performed from an office location or remotely per project needs
