Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join its Water Practice supporting water resources, water quality, and wastewater management projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals in the first year of their career who want hands-on exposure to technical analyses, data-driven reporting, and multidisciplinary project work.
What You’ll Do

- Provide technical and project support across water-focused engagements.
- Assist with research, field and desk-based data collection, and quantitative analysis related to water resources, water quality, and wastewater management.
- Prepare technical reports, memos, and project deliverables that communicate methods, results, and recommendations.
- Analyze water and wastewater treatment needs, treatment performance, and cost considerations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and project managers to meet client objectives.
- Support project coordination and administrative tasks to help keep projects on schedule and on budget.
What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering (water/wastewater focus), or a closely related field.
- 0–1 years of professional experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply).

- Data analysis experience, including advanced Excel functions; experience with R is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.

- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance frameworks relevant to water programs.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Note: The role title references security clearance. Candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearance for projects if requested by the client.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year.
- Benefits package (summary): health & dental insurance, life insurance, long‑term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, robust 401(k) plan, profit sharing, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid vacation (11–20 days, depending on tenure/location), paid holidays, and paid sick leave per state requirements.
- Exact salary offer depends on experience and qualifications. State-specific pay transparency requirements will be honored where applicable.
Location & Work Environment
- Primary work location: Merrifield / Fairfax, Virginia (22031).
- This is a full‑time position. Some projects may require occasional travel to client sites.
