Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Environmental Geologist to join the Hayes Valley, CA team for Summer 2027. This role focuses on field site exploration, sampling, remediation support, data management, and report preparation on environmental projects. You will work under experienced project staff on diverse remediation and site assessment assignments and gain hands-on field and technical experience.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform field inspections and environmental investigations, including logging borings and documenting field conditions
  • Conduct air, soil, gas, and groundwater sampling and support remediation activities
  • Assist in planning and executing field investigations, performing routine field tests and calculations, and recording data
  • Provide field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Troubleshoot field and laboratory issues, document findings, and communicate issues to supervisors
  • Support technical report writing, data management, data processing and interpretation, and preparation of plans and specifications
  • Perform other project-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 0–2 years of relevant work or internship experience
  • Applicants with an engineering degree are preferred to have EIT certification or current registration for the FE exam
  • Strong technical foundation and a professional, safety-focused demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and sound judgment
  • Able to work independently and in team settings
  • Availability to work overtime when required
  • Travel to project sites may be required based on business needs

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $68,250—$88,750 USD per year (reported by the client)

Location & Work Conditions

  • Location: Hayes Valley, CA (primary reporting / job location)
  • Field work involves outdoor site visits, exposure to field conditions, and occasional overtime
  • Safety protocols and site-specific PPE requirements will be enforced
