Role Overview
Confidential Client is recruiting an Entry‑Level Engineer (Water) to join their Water business line supporting water, water‑resources, and wastewater treatment/distribution projects across the Northeastern U.S. This is a full‑time, early‑career position with hybrid work options and opportunities to join a hiring event in Boston (October 21–22, 2026). Hiring locations include offices in the Northeast; this posting is for Rocky Hill, CT.
- Compensation: USD 76,000 — USD 90,000 per year (listed by the client)
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
- Work model: Hybrid (office + occasional field/site visits)
- Travel: Occasional travel to project sites and regional offices throughout the Northeast
What You’ll Do
- Perform engineering assignments using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete water and wastewater tasks.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, plans, sections, details, and visual aids using industry CAD/BIM tools.
- Support design and evaluation for water and wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, and sewer collection systems.
- Conduct hydraulic and stormwater modeling, analysis, and design for distribution and collection systems.
- Work under the supervision of project managers and senior staff; contribute to project deliverables and coordinate with team members.
- Attend client or site meetings and occasional field visits as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass the client’s Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
- Basic knowledge of industry‑standard software (examples: AutoCAD/Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP, Revit, MicroStation, GIS, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools).
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or passed FE exam.
- Experience with GIS and CAD (Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling and stormwater tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task, and work both independently and in teams.
- Self‑starter attitude and ability to take direction and, when appropriate, mentor others.
- Proficiency with standard office software (spreadsheets, word processing).
