About the Role

Confidential Client (a national engineering firm in the Engineering sector) seeks an entry-level engineer to join the Materials division within Engineering Mechanics & Infrastructure (EMI). This role supports structural and materials engineering projects — including failure analysis, repair/rehabilitation work, and site-based investigations — while providing strong mentorship and professional development toward PE licensure.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide engineering support selecting materials for structural, mechanical, and building applications.
  • Conduct failure analysis of metals, concrete, polymers, composites, and other structural materials.
  • Plan and perform supervised site investigations to document existing conditions and determine root causes.
  • Manage and conduct laboratory tests and analyses; interpret and summarize results.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, client presentations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Assist senior staff with proposals, calculations, budgeting, scheduling, and construction administration tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with project teams and clients; support field inspections as required.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) with emphasis in materials science, materials engineering, structural engineering, or engineering mechanics. M.S. preferred.
  • 0–5 years’ experience in civil, structural, or materials engineering (entry-level candidates with strong academic records encouraged).
  • Commitment to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) registration within five years.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to travel and perform supervised field inspections.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Preferred: M.S. or higher in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Structural Engineering, or similar; evidence of academic excellence.

Compensation

This pay range is a good-faith estimate pursuant to applicable pay-transparency laws. Actual salary will depend on experience, education, and location.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: $79,560 - $81,640 per year
  • Master’s Degree: $83,200 - $85,280 per year

Position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Base salary is part of a broader total compensation package including discretionary bonus, paid time off, and generous benefits.
