What You’ll Do
As an Entry-Level Engineer supporting a confidential client in the construction industry, you will help manage day-to-day project activities under the direction of a Project Manager and/or Superintendent. This role offers on-site, hands-on exposure to commercial construction project delivery and career-path training.
- Coordinate work with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors and site subcontractors.
- Support or direct the work of trades assigned to a construction site to help meet schedule and quality goals.
- Assist with estimating, bidding processes and tracking costs to support the project budget.
- Identify, document and help resolve design issues, field issues and change orders.
- Prepare contracts and purchase orders using company boilerplate language to document scopes, schedules, costs and technical specifications.
- Participate in coordination meetings and help manage labor and scheduling concerns.
- Implement and track project schedules and milestones.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders to ensure contract compliance.
- Provide field support to superintendents for quality control and site maintenance.
- Document project technical, financial and personnel-related records for each phase.
- Promote and help maintain a safe work site.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications — candidates must meet these to be considered:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or Construction Technology.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to apply them on projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work on active construction sites and travel between job locations in the Portland, OR area as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Internship or prior experience on construction projects, mechanical/electrical systems or working with craft workers.
- Familiarity reading technical specifications, blueprints and engineering/architectural drawings.
- Experience with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar) and basic construction software.
- Understanding of safety regulations, ANSI standards and local building codes.
Location & Logistics
- Job location: Portland, OR — work will be primarily on-site at construction project locations in and around Portland.
- This is a full-time, on-site role; occasional travel between job sites is expected.
- Confidential Client will provide training and on-the-job mentoring for qualified early-career engineers.

Estimated (external) pay — $118,849 per year (public estimate). Actual compensation will be determined by Confidential Client based on experience and local rules.
