What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to support mission modules and systems integration for Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programs and related Mission Module in-service engineering functions. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Support hardware/software engineering, system integration, installation, modernization, and test activities for the Modular Guns Weapons System (MGWS) and Surface Warfare (SUW) Mission Package.
  • Perform engineering analysis, assessments, investigations, and evaluations for combat, weapon, network, and ancillary systems aboard LCS platforms and in laboratories.
  • Develop, update, test, and validate technical procedures and documentation (drawings, technical manuals, MRCs, CSOSS, C&L, APL/AEL).
  • Provide test support for Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), and Combat Systems Ships Qualification and Test (CSSQT).
  • Respond to Casualty Reports (CASREP), provide Fleet Tech Assist (FTA) support, and deliver Distance Support (DS).
  • Support Availability planning/execution, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Working Integrated Product Teams (WIPTs), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Assist Reliability Engineering (RE), DMSMS, and FRACAS processes.
  • Conduct and help develop training for shipboard personnel, contractors, and instructors.
  • Travel to ships and labs to operate, maintain, or modernize systems as required.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements (must be met to be considered):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret-level security clearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to technical detail.

Preferred qualifications:

  • ~1 year of Naval or shipboard engineering experience (LCS or similar platform).
  • Active Secret-level U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience with system integration, test & evaluation, and technical documentation for combat or weapons systems.

Security & Eligibility

  • Applicants must either hold an active U.S. Government security clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Selected candidates will undergo a government background investigation (criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, creditworthiness, etc.).
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (posted): $52,000 – $82,000 per year.
  • Confidential Client offers a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, retirement savings, paid time off, etc.). Specific benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
  • This posting complies with applicable pay transparency requirements for California.

Work Location & Travel

  • Primary location: Port Hueneme, CA.
  • Role requires shipboard and laboratory work and periodic travel to support installations, tests, and training events.
  • Not a remote-first role; on-site presence and travel are essential.
