Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Engineer to join their team in Graettinger, IA. This role focuses on preparing plan views, cross sections, and construction details for building projects in a commercial and residential construction environment. The ideal candidate produces accurate, consistent technical drawings, supports sales and management, and develops into a valued technical resource.

What you’ll do

• Develop plan views, cross sections, and construction details per project standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and structural plans.
• Perform basic structural calculations and material quantity take-offs.
• Apply company product standards, estimating procedures, and technical guidelines.
• Collaborate with sales, management, customers, and peers to answer technical questions.
• Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain steady, methodical work output.
• Participate in training, take initiative to learn, and support team activities as needed.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and structural design.
• Familiarity with applicable building codes, including IBC and ASCE 7.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; basic structural calculation capability.
• High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and error-free deliverables.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration.
• Ability to follow established procedures and exercise sound judgment within defined responsibilities.
• Willingness to learn, participate in training, and support team members.
