About the Confidential Client & Team

Confidential Client is a national engineering firm focused on building performance, building enclosures, structural systems, advanced analysis, and applied research. The Building Technology team applies engineering principles, materials science, and physics to make building envelopes durable, energy-efficient, and resistant to water infiltration. You’ll join a collaborative, learning-oriented team that balances field investigations, technical analysis, and design.


What You’ll Do

As an Associate Project Consultant on the Building Technology team, you will work under the direction of a licensed engineer to support new design, evaluation, investigation, and repair design for building envelopes and related systems. Typical duties include:

  • Assist with field investigations and on-site inspections (may require climbing ladders and scaffolds)
  • Collect field data, document conditions, and photograph sites
  • Support engineering evaluations and produce technical reports
  • Assist with development of repair designs and construction documents
  • Perform basic analysis and help develop recommendations under senior supervision
  • Travel by car to multiple project sites in the region as required
  • Communicate findings clearly to internal teams and external clients

What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 0–5 years of relevant experience; EIT preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in building construction, building envelopes, or applied engineering problem-solving
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and work safely at heights
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Initiative, accountability, and a willingness to learn and work on a team

Preferred skills and experience (a plus):

  • AutoCAD or Revit experience
  • Prior field inspection, construction experience, or allied trades
  • Industrial rope access or rock-climbing experience
  • Mechanical repair or hands-on technical experience

Compensation & Benefits

This posting provides a good-faith salary estimate in compliance with applicable pay-transparency laws for Massachusetts.

  • Base salary range (depending on degree):
    • Bachelor’s Degree: $79,560 - $81,640 per year
    • Master’s Degree: $83,200 - $85,280 per year
  • Range shown covers typical hires for this role; actual salary will be determined by experience, qualifications, and work location
  • This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus
  • Total Compensation includes base salary, possible pay for extra hours, an annual discretionary bonus, generous paid time off, and substantial employer contributions to medical insurance and retirement (profit sharing & 401(k))

Working Conditions & Safety

  • Fieldwork is required; you must be able to travel to job sites and work at heights
