Entry Level Engineer – Embedded Software / Systems
The Entry Level Engineer role at Confidential Client involves supporting the design and development of communications and navigation aids within the Portable Ship Control System team. The position requires collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines, participation in the full product development lifecycle, and the ability to work both on-site in Groton/New London, CT and remotely on a part-time basis. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s engineering team for Portable Ship Control Systems (PSCS) designs and supports communications and navigation aids across the full product lifecycle. In this entry-level role you will support engineering activities including concept development, requirements definition, design, prototyping, qualification testing, software development, delivery, and post-delivery support.
- Assist with systems engineering, hardware/software integration, and verification testing
- Support embedded software tasks and collaborate on system-level software development
- Help troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuits and assist with integration and test activities
- Work with vendors and cross-functional teams to develop and qualify products
- Prepare technical documentation and present findings to engineering teams
- Participate in configuration control, test planning, and lab/field testing as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering by December 2026
- 0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense
- Strong teamwork, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with submarine electronics system development, integration, installation, and test
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Exposure to hardware and software development tools
Location & Role Details
- Work location: Groton, CT (Confidential Client facilities in Groton / New London area)
- Remote: Part-time work-from-home available based on department needs; role supports telecommute
- Employment type: Full time
- Travel: May include limited domestic and occasional overseas travel
- Estimated base pay: $73,720 per year (estimated)
Note: This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Employment is contingent on meeting clearance and other pre-employment requirements.
