What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Electrical Engineer in West Mifflin, PA to support electrical design, test, and integration activities for naval propulsion and related laboratory systems. This role is hands-on and ideal for recent graduates or engineers with early-career experience who want to work on power electronics, controls, and electric machines.
- Perform electrical design, analysis, and test activities for power electronics, controls, data acquisition, electric machines, and power systems.
- Build and test prototypes; integrate hardware and software for verification and qualification.
- Develop and execute test procedures; collect and analyze test data; produce test reports.
- Procure and maintain lab/test equipment needed for verification and validation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate system components.
- Prepare technical documents including design descriptions, procedures, and project plans.
- Interface with internal teams and external suppliers/vendors as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical/engineering/science field from an accredited college or university; or a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated academic performance; GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
- Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach to assigned work.
Preferred Skills
- Coursework or hands-on experience in one or more of: power electronics, control systems, power systems, electric machines.
- Experience with data acquisition systems, circuit design, or prototype fabrication.
- Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, dynamometers) and lab safety practices.
- Leadership or project experience from internships, co-ops, student projects, or prior roles.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $63,900 - $97,800 per year (salary will vary based on experience, education, and qualifications).
