Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer with Security Clearance to join their engineering team. This role focuses on designing building electrical distribution systems (low-voltage, power, lighting and lighting controls, and fire alarm systems), producing construction documents, performing calculations, and coordinating with multi-discipline project teams. This is a full-time role based in Wake Crossroads, NC.


What You’ll Do

  • Design building electrical distribution systems, including low-voltage, power, lighting, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems
  • Prepare electrical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications
  • Create project schedules and cost estimates that meet project requirements
  • Coordinate scope and deliverables with architectural, mechanical, civil, and other discipline teams
  • Support quality control and design review to ensure accuracy and constructability
  • Perform occasional site visits for investigation, field verification, or construction observation
  • Communicate clearly with project teams, clients, and contractors to meet deadlines and project goals

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering required
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (entry-level)
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD; Revit experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
  • Ability to pass background checks; must be eligible to obtain and maintain any required security clearance

Preferred / Nice to have

  • Internship or co-op experience in building electrical design
  • Hands-on experience with lighting controls and power distribution design
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes used in building electrical engineering
  • Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills

Compensation & logistics

  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Estimated salary (from source): $60,399 per year (estimated)
  • Location: Wake Crossroads, NC (onsite / local travel as required)
