What You’ll Do
Reporting to a Project Manager or Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support electrical engineering design and documentation for building and site projects. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assist with the design and development of electrical systems for building and site projects under the direction of senior engineering staff
- Support electrical power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, communications, and other electrical subsystems as applicable
- Prepare and edit electrical drawings, details, schedules, calculations, specifications, and construction documents
- Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit to create and modify engineering drawings and plans
- Assist with electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, voltage drop checks, and other analyses
- Support code research and the application of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, civil, and structural disciplines
- Assist with utility coordination and communication with utility companies as directed
- Participate in field investigations and site visits; document existing electrical conditions
- Perform other engineering and technical duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- 0–2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience required
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) designation preferred
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit; willingness to develop advanced CAD/BIM skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary project team
- Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when needed
Compensation & Logistics
- Estimated pay: $49,301 per year (estimated)
- Employment type: Full‑time, Permanent
- Location: Pleasantville, NJ — role will include office work and site visits as needed
