Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to join their Merritt Island, FL engineering team (hybrid). This is an early-career, full-time role focused on electrical power systems, lighting, communications, fire alarm/security systems, and construction support. The role offers mentorship, project variety, and professional development toward a long-term career in power-focused electrical engineering.


What You’ll Do

Confidential Client expects the Entry Level Electrical Engineer to support project teams through design, construction, and operations phases. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Perform in-field walkdowns and site inspections for equipment and facilities.
  • Prepare design concepts, sketches, and construction drawings for electrical systems (power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security).
  • Produce plans, specifications, and cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Conduct Arc Flash Hazard Analyses and other electrical safety studies.
  • Complete facility condition assessments and capital-asset planning support.
  • Perform detailed cost analyses and material take-offs.
  • Support construction management and provide construction-phase engineering support.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design teams and assist in client-facing technical discussions.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience; internships, co-ops, or EIT designation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools (Teams/SharePoint).
  • Experience or exposure to CAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, EasyPower, or similar electrical modeling/drafting tools is highly preferred.
  • Valid, unrestricted Florida driver’s license (required for field work).

Work Authorization & Clearance

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance from the Defense Security Service or other federal agencies may be required for some projects.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Role may require climbing ladders/stairs and accessing confined or elevated spaces (roofs, basements, tunnels).
  • Site investigations and construction support may involve extended walking and field work.
  • Travel: Up to 30% (domestic, project-dependent).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD per year (range provided by the client; actual pay depends on skills, experience, and location).
