What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Electrical Design Engineer to support building systems design across a variety of project types. This early‑career role works under senior engineering staff to develop layouts, perform calculations, assist with construction documents, and help ensure technical quality while learning professional engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Work with Senior Engineer, Project Engineer, and Principal staff to execute electrical design tasks
- Independently complete assignments after receiving direction on expected outcomes
- Seek guidance on unusual issues and obtain supervisory approval for developed plans
- Assist with preparation of contract and construction documents
- Plan and conduct portions of projects of moderate scope
- Perform routine engineering calculations and standard design tasks
- Develop elementary electrical designs from schematic sketches
- Coordinate production and interdisciplinary coordination with senior designers/engineers
- May supervise or coordinate the work of CAD operators and designers
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Foundational understanding of building systems design (electrical distribution, lighting, power, energy concepts) preferred
- Basic knowledge of building codes and industry standards preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documents
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit; basic familiarity with BIM workflows preferred
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Location & Travel
- Location: Loehmanns Plaza, NY (role supports projects in Rochester or Buffalo markets)
- Travel: Up to 15%
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly range (non-exempt): $30.00 – $34.86 USD per hour. Actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and location.
