Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Drafting Engineer (Jr. Drafter) to join their engineering and production teams in Allentown, PA. This hands-on role is ideal for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate who wants to build practical AutoCAD and drafting experience supporting precast concrete infrastructure—stormwater, wastewater, and underground utilities systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
- Produce accurate drafting documentation for precast concrete structures
- Apply basic fluid dynamics principles to stormwater and drainage designs
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and project teams to refine designs
- Revise and update drawings based on project specifications and feedback
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and drafting fundamentals required
- Basic understanding of fluid dynamics / water flow principles is a plus
- Interest or exposure to stormwater, drainage, or precast concrete systems is a plus
- Familiarity with Bills of Materials or strong willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Estimated Compensation
