Responsibilities

  • Design and support power distribution projects from development through completion.
  • Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, and fault currents.
  • Coordinate protective devices and distribution system requirements.
  • Support permitting, Right-of-Way acquisition, and forestry trimming requests.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and construction partners.
  • Expect approximately 90% design/engineering work and 10% fieldwork.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of electric power distribution systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Orlando, FL.

Additional Skills & Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience with MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor, MATLAB, or similar design software.
  • Design Quality Control (QC) experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in the power and utilities industry.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site, contract-to-hire role based in Orlando, FL. You will work alongside a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and design technicians and gain exposure to complex distribution projects and utility customers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $29.81 - $31.25 per hour.
  • Individual pay offered within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
