Position overview

This is a remote, entry-level DevOps Engineer role open to qualified candidates located in the United States. You will support automation, deployment, and operational reliability for cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure for a Confidential Client technology team. This role is a strong fit for candidates with foundational software development experience who are eager to grow technical skills in Azure, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and container platforms.


What You’ll Do

  • Support implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, fast software delivery.
  • Assist with cloud infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, and environment management in Microsoft Azure.
  • Work closely with software developers, QA, and senior DevOps engineers to improve release processes, monitoring, and platform stability.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and application issues to help meet release commitments.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) efforts using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Support containerized application environments and related tooling.

What we’re looking for (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational software development knowledge from coursework, internships, projects, or early-career roles.
  • Strong interest in DevOps, cloud technologies, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Basic understanding of Azure cloud services and cloud computing concepts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles and software release management.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (PaaS and IaaS).
  • Experience building, supporting, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to .NET application environments.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Chef).
  • Experience with developer platform tooling (e.g., Backstage.io).
  • Internship, project, or professional experience supporting cloud, automation, or DevOps initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $77,000 - $85,000 per year (depends on experience and qualifications).
  • Eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program (subject to plan terms).
  • Benefits include medical/dental/vision, life insurance, paid holidays and PTO, 401(k) plan, disability coverage, paid parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan (subject to eligibility).
