What You’ll Do

This entry-level Design Engineer will support gas distribution and transmission projects as part of a multidisciplinary gas programs team. You will contribute to design and construction planning for pipeline mains, regulator stations, trenchless installations, and related public improvements. Typical responsibilities include:

• Perform engineering calculations for pipeline and system design
• Develop pipeline route alignments and prepare conceptual and detail design deliverables
• Produce construction cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Collaborate with project engineers, designers, and drafters to produce constructible plans
• Support site visits and field investigations as required (hybrid work with in-office collaboration)
• Assist with permit packages, technical reports, and client deliverables
• Follow quality control processes and applicable codes/standards for natural gas infrastructure

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, chemical, or petroleum engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Valid U.S. driver’s license without restrictions for occasional project site visits
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• 0–4 years of experience in natural gas engineering, pipeline design, or utility engineering (consulting preferred)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other 2D/3D modeling software (experience with drafting tools used by design teams is highly valued)
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Comfortable performing field visits and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated interest in utility infrastructure, public improvements, or energy delivery systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $68,000 – $73,000 per year (exempt). Final compensation will depend on location, experience, internal equity, and relevant education/training.
