Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Design Engineer to provide CAD and engineering support on a major utility project based in Exton, PA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for early-career engineers who have hands-on CAD/MicroStation experience and want a clear path into Designer and Project Management roles.

What You’ll Do

• Perform basic to intermediate engineering drafting and design tasks using CAD software.
• Survey and document existing utility field conditions using GPS and standard survey methods.
• Produce and implement design modifications to improve project quality and workflow.
• Execute redlines and produce deliverables in MicroStation (or equivalent) for utility clients.
• Collaborate closely with drafters, designers, and project managers and participate in client-facing activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
• 1+ year of CAD experience (could include coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional work).
• Competency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-focused, client-facing environment.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

• Practical field experience with GPS or conventional survey methods.
• Familiarity with utility design standards and redline workflows.
• Interest in developing into a Designer role and eventually Project Management.

Work Environment & Location

• This is a fully onsite position based in Exton, PA. Regular collaboration with on-site colleagues and client representatives is expected.
• The role is contract-to-hire with meaningful exposure to project delivery and career progression opportunities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour. Actual pay will depend on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
