Overview

This is an entry-level opportunity based in Santa Monica, CA for candidates looking to start a career in data, analytics, or full‑stack software development. The Confidential Client is hiring for full‑time roles across data analyst / data scientist and Java full‑stack developer tracks. Ideal applicants include recent graduates, career switchers, and professionals seeking to build practical skills with SQL, Python, Java, and dashboarding tools.


What You’ll Do

  • Support data analysis and reporting efforts using spreadsheets and SQL.
  • Prepare and clean datasets for analysis; perform basic data validation.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Write and optimize queries to extract insights and produce business reports.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to translate business questions into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to coding tasks using Python and/or Java as needed for data processing or application features.
  • Present findings and create simple data stories to inform stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with spreadsheets and structured data.
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL and experience writing queries.
  • Basic programming skills in Python or Java.
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to learn technical tools and interview practices.
  • Open to recent graduates, candidates returning from layoffs, career changers, and those with limited professional experience.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience or coursework in Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools.
  • Exposure to full‑stack development concepts (Java, HTML/CSS, REST APIs).
  • Familiarity with data cleaning, ETL concepts, or basic machine learning ideas.
  • Version control experience (Git) and basic software development practices.

Compensation & Location
