What You’ll Do

This entry-level Dam Engineer role at our confidential client offers hands-on engineering work on dam and hydraulic structure projects, blending field inspection and office design tasks. You will work under senior engineering staff to develop practical solutions, prepare construction documents, and support inspections and data collection in the field.

  • Apply engineering principles and numerical models to support dam design and rehabilitation projects under senior supervision
  • Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures, including spillways, outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other raw water infrastructure
  • Assist with preparation of CAD drawings and construction-level plans and specifications using AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Collect field data, perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures, and document findings clearly
  • Prepare engineering recommendations and contribute to technical reports
  • Coordinate with project teams to support multi-disciplinary deliverables and construction submittals

Qualifications

Required

  • 0–2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire for continual improvement
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work and travel (assignments may last several months away from home)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license

Preferred

  • Prior internship or professional experience in geotechnical, civil, construction, or dam engineering
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure

Other Requirements & Hiring Notes

  • Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record review, and pre-employment drug screening as permitted by law
  • Compensation range for this position: $62,400 to $86,000 per year. Final pay will reflect experience, location, and other lawful factors
  • This role is full-time. Employment offers will comply with all applicable federal and state employment laws in the job location
