What You’ll Do
Join Confidential Client’s engineering team in Chadds Ford, PA as an Entry-Level (Staff) Dam Engineer. In this hands-on role you will support the design, inspection, and rehabilitation of dams and related hydraulic structures while learning from experienced engineers. Typical duties include field data collection, technical design and calculations, CAD drafting, report preparation, and participating in site inspections.
- Apply engineering principles, numerical models, and practical judgement under the supervision of senior staff
- Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures (spillways, dam outlet works, diversion/check structures, measurement flumes, and other raw-water infrastructure)
- Assist with inspections of dams and hydraulic structures and document findings
- Prepare CAD drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil3D
- Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports and specifications
- Collect and verify field measurements and data; support construction observation as needed
- Coordinate with project teams and communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel (assignments may last several months)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license (driving is an essential function)
- Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening as required
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Prior internship or professional experience in geotechnical, civil, or construction-related engineering
- Master’s degree in a related discipline
- EIT certification (Engineer in Training) or progress toward licensure
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $62,400 — $86,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client and may vary based on location and experience)
