Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Cyber Security Engineer to join a mission focused team in Lafayette, LA. This is a hands‑on role for early career candidates who want practical experience with modern security tooling, monitoring, and AI enabled workflows while supporting secure system delivery for clients.


How You’ll Make an Impact

You will work with cross‑functional teams to deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity capabilities and help improve detection, prevention, and response. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Support design, configuration, and implementation of cybersecurity solutions
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and NAC
  • Collect and review security logs and telemetry to support continuous monitoring
  • Use AI enabled security tools for automated threat detection, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics
  • Assist with integration and troubleshooting to ensure secure connectivity across systems
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for architectures, configurations, and controls
  • Validate AI generated outputs and apply responsible AI practices including human oversight, privacy, and transparency
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent coursework with exposure to cybersecurity concepts
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD / Public Trust clearance
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and a desire for continuous learning
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and an ability to simplify technical ideas
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively on cross functional teams
  • Exposure to security technologies, scripting or automation, or modern technical platforms through coursework, internships, projects, or competitions is preferred
  • Interest in learning and responsibly applying AI enabled tools and automation to improve security operations

  • Estimated salary range (provided by our client): $63,700 - $123,800 per year
