Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Controls Engineer in Allentown, PA. This is a hands-on, early-career engineering role supporting automation and control system projects across manufacturing sectors. You will work on project teams, receive on-the-job training from experienced automation engineers, and travel to customer sites to implement and test control system deliverables.

  • Estimated pay: $57,450 per year (estimated)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Location: Allentown, PA (on-site and customer-site travel required)

What you’ll do

  • Participate in the design, development, and documentation of control systems that meet customer requirements
  • Implement and test project deliverables on customer sites; travel as required
  • Communicate technical work and project status to customers, project managers, and lead engineers
  • Support commissioning, system integration, and troubleshooting activities
  • Follow project schedules and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, Bioengineering, Industrial, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Solid understanding of programming concepts
  • Proficiency with business software (MS Office)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, professional demeanor and a cooperative working style
  • Willingness to work off-hours when required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
  • Willing to submit to drug testing and background checks as required by employment and customer contracts

Preferred qualifications

  • General understanding of process control or manufacturing processes
  • Prior exposure to PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS or MES technologies
  • Self-starter with demonstrated leadership potential; able to work independently or in teams
