What You’ll Do
This entry-level Controller Integration Engineer will support vehicle software integration, validation, and readiness activities across assigned programs. Typical responsibilities include:
- Execute Vehicle Software Configuration Management (VeSCoM) processes and support software release activities.
- Plan, execute, and document tests based on the Controls Development Plan (CDP).
- Support software feature checkout activities aligned with software availability and program milestones.
- Investigate software and calibration issues discovered during vehicle integration activities.
- Create and maintain VeSCoM documentation (release notes, controller ID files, hardware dependencies, known issues).
- Log and track software and calibration anomalies using tools such as JIRA or GIMS.
- Support software flashing and update activities throughout vehicle development.
- Perform preliminary root cause analysis and identify system impacts.
- Collect and analyze vehicle logs and data for issue investigation.
- Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in vehicle build events, development testing, buy-off rides, and readiness activities.
- Support vehicle preparation for integration testing and DVUL execution.
- Ensure Software Execution fleet vehicles maintain valid, test-ready software configurations and content.
- Escalate technical concerns and program risks through appropriate channels.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Expected graduation between Dec 2026 and June 2027.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be able to work in Southeast Michigan and report onsite in Milford, MI (hybrid schedule).
- Available to work full time (40 hours per week).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in automotive systems, controls, software integration, or related areas.
- Understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and major automotive systems.
- Familiarity with automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Experience with vehicle software integration and validation activities.
- Exposure to software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments (dSPACE ControlDesk, MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow).
- Experience with vehicle dynamics tools (CarSim) or other computer-aided test tools.
- Familiarity with diagnostic and integration tools (ETAS INCA, Vector CANoe/CANape, Intrepid NeoVI/VSpy, Comet, Galaxy).
- Student project or club experience such as Formula SAE or EcoCAR is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, MI (or other program sites as required) at least three times per week or at the frequency dictated by the business. Candidates should be local to Southeast Michigan or able to relocate.

- Estimated pay (as listed in source): $111,782 per year (estimated).
