About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Construction Engineer to support transportation and municipal construction projects based in Schiller Park, IL. This full‑time, field-forward role provides hands-on experience in construction inspection, project documentation, and coordination under the supervision of a Lead Engineer.
Who You Are
- You have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
- You have 0–5 years of construction or inspection experience (entry-level candidates encouraged).
- Familiarity with IDOT procedures and a current IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification is expected.
- You understand construction inspection practices; paving experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable interfacing with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and willing to learn project documentation systems.
What You’ll Do
- Provide on-site construction inspection and assist with quality assurance for roadway, stormwater, and related transportation projects.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation: daily reports, calculations, plans, specifications, permit support, and project filing.
- Support the Lead Engineer by applying standard engineering techniques and following established procedures; exercise limited judgment on routine tasks.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Continue to learn technical and regulatory processes while contributing to a collaborative project environment.
