What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Construction Engineer to join a Construction Management team supporting projects across the greater New York City metropolitan area. This is an early-career role that provides hands-on field and office experience on diverse civil infrastructure projects.
- Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract plans, provisions, and specifications
- Coordinate and schedule construction inspection phases with the prime contractor and governing agencies
- Identify field issues proactively and discuss practical solutions with supervision and project stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with owners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Prepare and process construction records including RFIs, submittals, field measurements for progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders
- Maintain project documentation systems, prepare weekly reports, and support monthly estimates and as-built documentation
- Represent Confidential Client in the field and document all site activities professionally
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation, effective communication skills, and the ability to work on-site across New York City projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with field staff and function as a team player
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Candidates who currently possess or are eligible for a security clearance are preferred (this role title indicates a clearance requirement/advantage)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior construction internship or co-op experience preferred
- Familiarity with construction documentation systems, change order processing, and progress payment documentation
- Interest in growing within a multi-discipline engineering and construction management practice
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually (projected). This listing complies with New York pay-transparency expectations by disclosing the expected range.
