What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level electrical engineering role supporting the design, integration, testing, deployment, and support of shipboard electrical instrumentation and control systems. As an early-career engineer you will contribute to mission-critical systems used on naval platforms and collaborate with internal teams, customers, shipyards, and vendors.

  • Design, integrate, test, deploy, and support electrical instrumentation & control systems for next-generation shipboard platforms.
  • Maintain and implement improvements to hardware and software system designs.
  • Develop and execute equipment and system-level tests; analyze and document results.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, isolating root causes and proposing fixes.
  • Prepare technical evaluations, test procedures, and clear engineering reports.
  • Communicate technical status, issues, and recommendations verbally and in writing to engineering teams, shipyard counterparts, management, and customers.

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should meet the minimum education and eligibility requirements and demonstrate foundational technical skills relevant to controls, power electronics, and embedded/hardware-software systems.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university; OR Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to satisfy federal background investigation requirements for access to classified matter.
  • Experience or coursework in at least one (two preferred) of: control systems, power electronics, hardware/software development, microprocessor-based equipment.
  • Coursework or practical experience with computer programming (e.g., C, C++, Python, MATLAB).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings; self-starter attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
  • Co-op, internship, or prior technical work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, and initiative.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation & control test procedures and environments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $63,900 - $97,800 per year (actual pay depends on experience and qualifications).
