Position overview
This is an early-career Civil/Highway Engineer role supporting transportation and roadway design projects. The confidential client is recruiting for an Entry‑Level Civil/Highway Engineer to join a transportation design team based in Philadelphia, PA (hybrid work model). The role includes design support for roadway rehabilitation, intersection improvements, interstate widening/reconstruction, 3D modeling, signing & pavement marking, ADA and multimodal design.
What You’ll Do
- Support analysis, design, and documentation for small- to large-scale highway and roadway projects.
- Obtain and review existing site information, including limited field investigations.
- Produce technical calculations to advance design (geometry, drainage/pavement assumptions, etc.).
- Assist with roadway construction plans, intersection grading, traffic control/staging, and signing & pavement markings.
- Develop 3D models and deliverables using Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, or similar tools.
- Contribute to technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Work within project budgets and schedules under supervision of a Project Engineer.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam — or ability to take it within 6 months.
- Some experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, or Bentley OpenRoads.
- Internship or project experience with engineering firms, contractors, or DOTs involving highway design or transportation projects.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Annual base salary: USD 75,000 – USD 85,000 (yearly).
- Employment type: Full-time (project work may include contract elements).
- Work model: Hybrid (based in Philadelphia, PA).

- As a condition of employment, newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day‑1 onboarding at a client office location.
- This position reports to a Project Engineer and is an early-career role with structured mentorship.
