The Entry-Level Civil/Highway Engineer at Confidential Client will join the Transportation Business Line's design team to support the development of highway and roadway projects including rehabilitation, safety improvements, and intersection/interchange design. Under supervision, the engineer will perform technical calculations, develop 3D models using civil engineering software, assist in preparing reports and specifications, and contribute to project delivery within budget and schedule. Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an Entry-Level Civil/Highway Engineer to join its transportation design team. This role focuses on highway and roadway design tasks including geometry, pavement design, traffic control/staging, signing and pavement markings, ADA and multimodal design, and 3D modeling. Compensation: USD 75,000 - USD 85,000 per year. Employment type: Full-time / Contractor. Hybrid work model.
What You’ll Do
- Obtain and review existing project information and perform field/site investigations.
- Produce technical calculations to advance roadway and intersection designs.
- Support development of roadway construction plans, intersection grading, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking plans.
- Create 3D civil models using Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Assist with technical reports, project specifications, and deliverables.
- Execute work under supervision, meeting budget and schedule requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or ability to take it within the next six months.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads.
- Previous internship or work experience with engineering firms, contractors, or state DOTs on transportation/highway projects.
