What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Civil/Environmental Engineer based in Ketchikan, AK. This is an hourly, full‑time role ($35–$40/hr, depending on experience) with overtime opportunities. You will work on small- to medium-scale public and private infrastructure projects across Southeast Alaska, supporting design, permitting, field work, and construction activities under the mentorship of licensed engineers.
- Site development design
- Water and sewer utility design
- Street and pedestrian facilities design
- Drainage facilities and erosion‑stabilization design
- Hydrology and hydraulic modeling (HEC‑RAS, EPANET, etc.)
- Environmental permitting support
- Construction inspection and contract administration assistance
- Materials testing and inspection
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, planners, and clients to take projects from concept to completion
- Occasional travel to remote work sites by small aircraft or ferry; regular site visits and outdoor work
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, or ability to attain within one year
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency or willingness to learn AutoCAD Civil 3D, EPANET, HEC‑RAS, and MS Office
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfortable working outdoors and visiting job sites
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
