What You’ll Do
This opportunity is for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer focused on drainage/stormwater and transportation engineering. You will join a transportation team delivering projects for state DOT and local municipal clients across Florida. Work closely with senior engineers, designers, and planners to develop plans, calculations and construction documents while learning regulatory and hydraulic design principles.
- Performs engineering analysis and prepares plans for roadway and related infrastructure improvements.
- Assist senior staff in developing design calculations, drainage reports, and construction plan sets.
- Support design of collection and conveyance systems for transportation projects.
- Assist in design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity standards.
- Apply local and regional regulatory requirements (examples: SJRWMD, SFWMD, SWFWMD, FDEP, RCID, and local municipal rules).
- Help prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents.
- Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and contribute to client communication and project schedules.
- Participate in office-based collaboration; this role requires a minimum of three days in office per week.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field, OR currently enrolled and expected to complete a Bachelor’s degree within the next 3 months.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and common office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program (or anticipated completion within 10 months).
- Experience or coursework in transportation hydraulics or stormwater design.
- Familiarity with industry software (examples: AutoCAD/CADD, MicroStation, GIS) is a plus.
- Willingness to learn design standards and local permitting processes.
Compensation & Work Model
- Base salary range (from source): USD 75,000 — USD 85,000 per year.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Hybrid work model: in-office attendance required at least three days per week. Day-1 in-person onboarding at a client office location is required as a condition of employment.
Additional Information
- No relocation assistance is offered for this role.
- Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- This role supports municipal and DOT transportation projects throughout Florida; travel to project or client sites may be required.
- The successful candidate will be expected to follow all applicable safety and workplace policies.
