What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Site/Civil Engineer role supporting site development, waterfront, and infrastructure projects. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist design and construction teams by reviewing project concepts, architectural drawings, and models
  • Collect and analyze site data (reports, maps, aerial photos, geotechnical and hydrological data) to support engineering designs
  • Support preparation of feasibility studies and environmental impact analyses
  • Prepare civil site development documents: site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
  • Perform calculations, cost estimates, technical specifications, and prepare engineering drawings and reports
  • Help develop construction specifications, plans, and schedules
  • Perform limited field observations and data collection in support of construction activities
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other project stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet quality and schedule expectations

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience; related internship experience is required for entry-level applicants
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Experience or familiarity with MicroStation and stormwater modeling tools (WaterCAD, SWMM) is a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel for site visits as needed
  • Must be able to complete post-offer background checks (may include credit and criminal history) and meet client security or onboarding requirements
  • Employment is contingent upon ability to legally work in the U.S.; selected candidate may be required to show proof of U.S. citizenship per client parameters
  • Ability to follow NIST 800-171 compliance requirements where applicable

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay: $36.00 to $43.00 per hour (range applies to candidates hired and working in the Virginia market)
  • Employment type: Contract (with potential for full-time assignments as noted by the client)

Physical Requirements

  • Majority of work is office-based.
