Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to support land development, site/civil design, and infrastructure projects in Schiller Park, IL. This is a full-time role (contractor designation may apply per project) focused on hands-on design, permitting support, and collaboration across project teams. Candidates with 0–2 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with planning, design, and permitting for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and revise engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Use maps, reports, drawings, aerial photography, and geotechnical data to evaluate soils, terrain, hydrology, topography, and other site constraints.
- Support site planning activities: grading, stormwater/drainage design, erosion and sediment control.
- Recommend process or design improvements that increase project efficiency and quality.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and advanced math to solve design and analysis problems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to complete assigned deliverables.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience (internships/prior internships count).
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- EIT certification or current registration for the FE exam preferred.
- Prior exposure to site/civil design tasks (site planning, grading, stormwater, drainage, erosion control) strongly preferred.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical, multitasking, and judgment abilities.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
- Availability to work Monday–Friday with occasional evenings or weekends as project needs require.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $71,500 — $85,500 USD per year (range provided by Confidential Client). Actual pay depends on experience, location, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
