What You’ll Do
This entry-level Engineer-in-Training (EIT) role on the Water Resources team supports planning, design, permitting, and construction-phase services for municipal and environmental water projects. Working under direct supervision, you will contribute to design tasks, technical analyses, and project documentation while developing professional skills.
- Assist with water resources planning, design, permitting, and construction support
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical memos, and design drawings
- Support hydraulic/hydrologic modeling (HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, or similar) and CAD/Civil 3D modeling tasks
- Help produce specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents
- Participate in field visits, data collection, and site assessments as needed
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders
- Learn and apply company standards, QA/QC processes, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute ideas and technical support to develop safe, cost-effective design solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Ability to obtain—or possession of—Engineer Intern (EI) / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on teams
- Familiarity with Civil 3D, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, or other modeling software is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn and grow in water resources engineering
- Professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to producing high-quality work
