Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level Civil Engineer on the rail terminal / intermodal team you will support design and project delivery across terminal and civil engineering assignments. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assist with terminal and civil design tasks using standard engineering methods and under senior guidance.
- Perform entry-level plan production and drafting; follow clearly defined instructions and quality standards.
- Support project schedules, estimating, and quality control reviews.
- Build proficiency with design and modeling software (MicroStation, OpenRail, InRoads) and other tools used by the team.
- Contribute research and data for technical reports and documentation.
- Coordinate with technical staff and support marketing and business development activities as needed.
- Travel occasionally to project sites; work outdoors in various terrain and weather conditions during construction phases.
- Provide basic mentoring and supervision to interns or student hires when directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, an Engineer Intern (EI) certificate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills; able to research and apply applicable requirements and regulations.
- Working knowledge of, or ability to become proficient in, MicroStation, OpenRail, and InRoads.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
- Willingness to learn consulting-business workflows and contribute to project and company success.

Location & Travel
- Work location: Loveland, CO. This role may require occasional travel to project sites and construction locations throughout the region.
