Position Overview
Confidential client is hiring an Entry-Level Civil Engineer in Kansas City, KS. This role supports planning, design, and permitting for land development and infrastructure projects. You'll gain hands-on experience in site/civil engineering for mixed-use developments, retail, residential, higher education, federal, and other land-development projects.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects
- Prepare and update engineering documents: reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates
- Use engineering/design software and tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) to develop design plans
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, test data and aerial photos to assess soils, terrain, hydrology, topography and geology
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
- Apply engineering fundamentals and advanced mathematics to solve design problems
- Collaborate with project teams and support multiple assignments
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0–2 years of related experience (entry-level)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- EIT certification or current FE exam registration preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications
- Internship or prior experience in site/civil design (site planning, grading, stormwater, drainage, erosion control) preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, multitasking and judgment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends as needed
- Travel may be required depending on project assignments
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary: $75,967 per year (estimated)
